This track was recorded mid Dec 2012. We were looking at this new song idea- I had the finger-picking ready and the lyrics, Manu had just come up with a very interesting sounding bass line and we pressed record. We loved the way the bass starts - sounding like a certain Queen song about an american football playing intergalactic hero.

The Song documents the moment a bank robbery goes badly wrong, all narrated in slow motion. I wanted harsh lyrics to clash with the sweetness of the folk-ey guitar melody.

I closed my eyes as the bullet left my arm.
And I couldn't see your face through the broken window pane.
The man with the gun, he's turning to shoot at you.
As I take your hand, we jump through exploding doors.

But the cops, they lie in wait.
As the air smells of lightning and almonds and kerosene.

Like the moon in the sky, as cold as the morning air.
